Editorial standards

Editorial Policy

beingvela is a practical journal about sleep, movement, nutrition, recovery, and the habits that support a good life. We aim to make useful information clear without making it louder than the evidence.

How we research

We begin with the question a reader is trying to answer, then consult peer-reviewed research and other primary sources where they are available. We look for the size and limits of an effect, not just whether a result sounds interesting.

How we write

Articles translate research into plain-spoken context and practical steps. We distinguish established findings from reasonable interpretation, and we avoid presenting a product, routine, or supplement as a universal answer.

Review and updates

Articles are reviewed for clarity, internal consistency, and whether the supporting information still reflects the available evidence. When an important claim changes, we update the relevant passage and record the updated date on the article.

Corrections

If we find a factual or editorial error, we correct it as soon as practical. Substantive corrections are noted when context would help readers understand what changed. If you spot an error, please use the contact page and include the article URL and the specific passage.

Commercial transparency

Some product links are affiliate links. They are labeled where appropriate and do not change the price a reader pays. Editorial decisions and product recommendations remain separate from affiliate relationships.
